Moreover, the multiplayer video game has grown an army of fans on streaming platforms who spend billions of hours watching the title each year.<\/p>\n<p>According to Stream Hatched data, LoL fans spent a total of 422 million hours watching the game on Twitch, YouTube Gaming, and Facebook Live in Q1 2023. Grand Theft Auto V ranked as the second-most-popular video game on streaming platforms, with 25 million hours less than that. VALORANT followed, with 310 million hours watched between January and March.<\/p>\n<p><script id=\"infogram_0_bf1e9bb3-dfb4-4895-8607-f20424065130\" title=\"League of Legends total hours watched in Q1 2023\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?Dfw\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Statistics show Minecraft and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang moved higher up the leaderboard thanks to successful esports and creator-led events which draw the streaming audience. Apex Legends also climbed four sports compared to Q4 2022, ranking as the seventh most-popular title with 170 million watched hours.<\/p>\n<p>Still, that was nothing compared to the success of Escape from Tarkov, which climbed eleven spots to eighth place and saw a 179% increase in total hours watched thanks to its successful drops campaign at the beginning of the year. Dota 2 and Fortnite round the list of ten most popular games, with 154 million and 145 million total hours watched.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Around 1.5 billion Hours Watched Per Year on Twitch Alone<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The title of the most-watched video game in Q1 2023 comes after League of Legends already hit some impressive viewership figures in the past years.According to TwitchTracker data, on the world&#8217;s top streaming platform alone, LoL hit an average of 1.5 billion hours watched per year. In 2019, League of Legends fans spent over 1.1 billion hours watching the video game on Twitch. By the end of 2020, this figure jumped to 1.58 billion and continued rising.<\/p>\n<p>Statistics show 2021 was an absolute record year with close to 1.7 billion hours watched, while last year saw a slight drop to 1.53 billion hours.
