The revenues of Europe`s Big Five leagues have soared in the last twenty years, driven mainly by a surge in broadcasting profits. But after years of double and triple-digit growth rates, the European football industry is expected to see a downturn in the following season.<\/p>\n

According to data presented by CasinosEnLigne.com<\/a>, Europe`s Big Five leagues are expected to see the second revenue drop in their recent history, falling by 0.7% to \u20ac18bn in the 2023\/2024 season.<\/p>\n

The Second Revenue Drop After COVID-19<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Over the past two decades, European football clubs grossed tens of billions of euros from broadcasting rights, matchday, and sponsorships, with revenues surging each year. According to Deloitte`s Annual Review of Football Finance 2023, the combined revenues of Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and Serie A amounted to \u20ac11.3bn in season 2013\/2014. Five years later, this figure jumped by almost 50% to \u20ac16.9bn.<\/p>\n
