Although Americans, the world`s second-largest gaming nation, can play video games on numerous devices, smartphones remain their number-one choice.

Only 29% of US Gamers Play Video Games on PC; Handheld Consoles are the Least Used Gaming Device
According to Statista Consumer Insights survey, US gamers clearly have an appetite to play anytime, anywhere. The survey, conducted between April 2022 and March 2023 among 10,000 respondents who regularly play video games, showed that 58% of them do it on their smartphones. Gaming consoles, the second-most used gaming device in the United States, had a considerably lower 35% share among respondents.
The survey also showed only 29% of US gamers regularly play games on PC, only 3% more than on tablets. One reason is that gaming PCs usually come with a higher initial price tag, which has become unaffordable for most ordinary people, especially as inflation continues crunching their spending budgets.
According to Statista, Smart TV, the fifth most-used gaming device, has a 21% share among the US gaming population, while handheld consoles are the least popular gaming device used by only 20% of respondents.
