Football clubs from Europe`s Big Five leagues spent a jaw-dropping €4.5bn on transfers in the 2022 summer transfer window, and almost half of that value came from the Premier League clubs. It has become pretty common for Europe`s top-flight clubs to spend heavily on getting new players, which has remained one of the biggest drivers of their surging transfer values.
According to data presented by Casinos En Ligne, Jude Bellingham has the highest estimated transfer value of €208 million or €17.5 million more than the new-generation leader Kylian Mbappé.
Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden the Only Players with Over $200M in Transfer Value
According to CIES Football Observatory data, Borussia Dortmund`s midfielder Jude Bellingham has the highest estimated transfer value in the world of football, much higher than Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, or Erling Halaand.
His owner club could potentially earn up to €208 million by transferring the 19-year-old English prodigy. Bellingham’s contract runs out in the summer of 2025, meaning this is the transfer window during which the Germans could make the biggest profit.
Statistics show Bellingham is €8 million ahead of Manchester City`s Phill Foden, whose estimated transfer value hit €200.5 million. Also, they are the only two football players with a transfer value of over €200 million.
Despite relatively short contracts lasting until June 2025 and June 2024, Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior are also in the top four, both with a €190 million estimated transfer value. The two superstars are around €25 million ahead of Premier League`s top scorer Erling Haaland, whose transfer value is now at €175 million.
Almost Half of the Players with Top Transfer Values Play in Manchester City or FC Barcelona
The other half of the list is filled with names of players from Spanish and German top-flight clubs. With €170.2 in estimated transfer value, FC Barcelona`s Pendri Gonzales ranked as the fifth most expensive player to buy. His teammate Pablo Gavi follows with €147.6 million.
Bayern Munich`s Jamal Musiala, RB Leipzig`s Joško Gvardiol, and Real Madrid`s Federico Valverde round the top ten list, with €145.1 million, €125.8 million, and €123.5 million, respectively.
Analyzed by their current clubs, statistics show that almost half of these footballers play in Manchester City or FC Barcelona.
